The BPGT Supports Autism Awareness & The Reach Foundation

As The BPGT prepares for its 3rd Golf Classic is the Signature Series of Pro-Am Tournament Play, we take time to also heighten the general awareness of Autism and the many misunderstood parallels that impact our Bahamian families due to the unfortunate inclusion of autism in our family lives. The BPGT, as a fundamental commitment to not just the improvement and global positioning if golf in The Bahamas; but as a Corporate Citizen/Organization is dedicated to the improvement of many social challenges that impact The Bahamas at large.

Earlier during July, Mr. Riccardo Davis; Founder & Director of The BPGT had the extreme pleasure of being able to interact with Mrs. Paula Hospendales as well as a few of her Autistic Students during which time Mr. Davis was able to make a small donation to The Reach Foundation to assist with their Summer Camp that is presently underway until Aug 2nd and will give the students a 6 week summer camp in which they will learn a few new and interesting skills including basic golf swings, tips and techniques in a one on one golf clinic with Riccardo Davis; dedicated as a part of the summer camp experience. REACH is grateful to the Bahamas Professional Golf Tour for reaching out to support our organization. The generous donation made this summer, as a result of our events during Autism Awareness month in April, will help to ensure that the RECH summer programme for children on the autism spectrum, will receive therapy which they may not have otherwise experienced. The donation will specifically assist to pay for the Applied Behavioural Analysis therapy (ABA). The over 50 participants will attend sessions during the 6 week programme helping to ensure a therapeutic summer programme.
